Recently I’ve started mentioning this idea of breakout sessions in passing and on the website.

I wanted to take a few minutes to clarify what exactly I mean by “breakout sessions” and how they will work.

The Setup

The first step is to load your brain full of tantalizing libraries, techniques and facts. This will happen during the core of the conference in talks, workshops, and other sessions.
I’ve asked each of our presenters to prepare their sessions with a special goal in mind: plant ideas and stir interest in continued exploration of your topic.

After a full day or so of this, you’ll be raring to go. You’ll want to let loose and try ideas out while they are still fresh in your mind.

The Breakout

On the second day of the conference, we’ll be hosting a special multi-hour “breakout” session. In this session, you’ll be let loose amongst staff, presenters and fellow attendees to form groups and explore new ideas.
This may sounds like a lot of setup and hassle, but don’t worry, we’ve got it all taken care of.

We’ll provide:

  • A randomly-generated group, lest you bring your own or would rather go it alone.
  • Private group channels with video chat to collaborate upon.
  • Free access to resources like Digital Ocean Droplets or AWS.
  • Direct access to speakers; ask questions, share code, and get expert input.

The Share

Later in the day, you’ll have the opportunity to share what you built in a lightning talk period.

After a break and brief voting period, we’ll announce an overall winner and fan favourite, for which both teams will receive some prizes 😉

How to get your tickets

The final piece of the puzzle is how you get your tickets. From now until Dec. 1, early-bird tickets are available at $349. After which, the price will go up to $425.

Get your tickets while they’re hot!
